DMV Permit Test 2025 Cdl Study — Privacy Policy
What this app collects, why it collects it, and what you can ask us to delete.
Updated September 9, 2026.
This policy explains how the DMV Study team, identified as the developer on your app-store listing, handles information in DMV Permit Test 2025 Cdl Study for iOS and Android. For privacy questions or requests, email the support page.
Your study records
The app keeps your selected state and license category, answers, bookmarks, saved sessions, lesson positions, study plans, progress, reminder preferences and driving-log entries on your device. Preserved records from the earlier version also remain on your device. We do not upload your complete study history or driving log to the study-coach service.
Settings → Study records lets you export, import or delete these local records. An exported file contains personal study information. The service or person you choose when sharing it receives that file. Copies in your own exports or device backups are controlled separately from the app.
Optional AI study coach
When you choose Ask study coach, the app sends the selected study questions and their revisions, your selected answers, state and license category, the type of help requested, and the optional note you enter. Do not include names, contact details, license numbers, health information or other sensitive information in that note. Authored explanations remain available without sending an AI request.
AI requests go to our study API and through OpenRouter to the configured model providers, Google and OpenAI, to create and check the response. These services process the selected request content. Our API does not store the ordinary prompt text or full generated response as a conversation history. It keeps request identifiers, timing, outcome, a response fingerprint and usage records for security, service operation and limits. AI content can be inaccurate; use it as study assistance.
Using the coach creates an anonymous Firebase authentication record and an app-installation identity. You do not need to supply a name, email address or password for that identity. Firebase authentication and App Check help us reject unauthorized requests; the installation identity also signs API requests.
If you report an AI response, the report sends that response, its request identifier, your selected reason and any optional report note. The team can review this content for quality and safety. Submitted report content is deleted after 90 days. A report does not include your other study history or driving log and does not request another AI response.
Purchases
Apple App Store or Google Play processes purchases and subscription payments. We do not receive your payment-card details. The app and our API use store-issued purchase proofs, product identifiers, ownership status and available expiration information to verify access. Server records include purchase fingerprints, verification results and usage limits associated with a purchase. Deleting local records or requesting data deletion does not cancel a store subscription. Manage or cancel subscriptions through the store that handles your purchase.
Analytics, diagnostics and notifications
Usage analytics is optional. You can enable or disable it in Settings, independently of study reminders and paid access. New installations start with analytics collection disabled. Disabling collection does not delete records already collected. Crash reporting remains separate from this preference.
The app uses Firebase Analytics for opted-in feature-use reporting and Crashlytics to diagnose failures and improve reliability. These services can process device and app identifiers, device and operating-system information, app events, crash information and approximate location derived from an IP address. Analytics is configured to deny advertising storage, use of data for advertising, and ad personalization. Android advertising-ID collection is disabled. Opting into usage analytics enables analytics storage; it does not enable those advertising features. The app does not display third-party advertisements. Our study-event reporting includes activity and selected route information, rather than the text of your driving log or optional AI note.
If you enable notifications, OneSignal and the platform notification service process notification subscription identifiers, device information, delivery activity and your notification preferences. Local study reminders use the times and preferences you choose. You can change study reminders in the app and disable notifications in your device settings. Disabling notifications does not delete previously collected service records.
Our servers and service providers also process network and security information, including IP addresses and request metadata, when you connect. Network requests use encrypted HTTPS connections.
Sharing and service providers
We use hosting, authentication, analytics, diagnostics, notification and AI providers to operate the features described above. Information needed for a feature is processed by those providers and may be processed outside your country. We do not sell your information. We may disclose information when required by law or when necessary to investigate abuse and protect users or the service.
Provider information is available from Firebase, OneSignal, OpenRouter, Google Cloud and OpenAI.
Retention, access and deletion requests
Local study records remain until you delete them or remove the app's data. Copies you export or keep in device backups are separate. Submitted AI report content expires after 90 days. Authentication, installation, purchase-verification, usage and security records are retained to operate access, enforce limits and investigate abuse, subject to your deletion request and any applicable retention requirements. The app's local-record deletion control does not by itself delete these server records or the Firebase authentication record.
To request access to or deletion of your AI-related or other server-held information, email the support page. Name this app and your platform, and describe the request. You can make a request without reinstalling the app. Do not email a password, payment-card number or full identity document. We may ask for limited information needed to establish ownership and locate the relevant records. We will explain any information that must be retained and why. Subscription cancellation remains a separate store action.
Younger learners
The app is intended for people preparing for driving-license tests, including teenage learners. It is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has supplied personal information, contact us so we can investigate and address it.
Changes and contact
We will update this page when our practices change. The date above identifies the current version. Contact the support page with questions about this policy or your information.
Optional store review invitation
At startup, the app checks locally whether WhatsApp is available to decide whether to show an optional invitation to leave a store review. This check does not access WhatsApp messages or contacts, and the result is not sent to our servers. Choosing No or dismissing the invitation continues to the app. Choosing Yes asks the device's store to show its review sheet; the store controls whether that sheet appears and handles any review you choose to submit.
